Sister Sites
various authors

As you may have noticed, three sister sites are listed at the bottom of all ODP public pages, and have been for a few months.

I had plans to write a newsletter article on this, with interviews from a member of each sister site community, to give everyone a clearer idea about the aims and objectives of each project, and how they can get involved.

Being crazy, I decided to spice things up by asking for answers in a particular form of verse.

It didn't quite go to plan, but here are the results... (They amuse me, anyway.)

ChefMoz

ChefMoz Fine Dining Menu

Beautifully imaginative, thanks to hotpink for this.

The questions I provided were:

  1. ChefMoz? The Internet's largest directory of chefs? Why?
  2. Ah, silly me. So, do you have to be a culinary expert to join in?
  3. Any good examples of the type of content editors can create?
  4. What would you say the best thing about ChefMoz is? The forum smileys? The free food?
  5. I still have a few questions about this... who could I talk to?
  6. OK, I'm a convinced dmoz editor, how do I go about joining? Should I apply for a country to begin with under a new editor name?
  7. But, you forgot to include the sprawling metropolis that is my home village... what do I do?
  8. In one verse, summarise ChefMoz.

MusicMoz

Interview with magne the MusicMoz Editor

This was submitted before I sent out the interview questions or thought up the idea of using verse forms. Thanks to magne for submitting it.

The questions I provided were... well, I wrote some, but they were never provided.

Open-site

Open-site in Haiku

jordancpeterson volunteered to do this one, and opted for haiku. I'm convinced the result makes no sense whatsoever, but see what you think.

The questions I provided were:

  1. Open-site? A site run on IIS?
  2. Ah right. I see there's no Moz in the title... you don't like lizards?
  3. Any good examples of the type of content editors can create?
  4. What would you say the best thing about open-site was? The owl? The free pen?
  5. I still have a few questions about this... who could I talk to?
  6. I think I could do this. How do I join in?
  7. You seem to have forgotten the existence of blue widgets. Should I just apply for green widgets and hope for the best?
  8. In one verse, summarise open-site.
